ENDOplant trunk injection
Plant endotherapy from ENDOterapia Vegetal, Spain. Product goes straight into the tree's vascular system, so the treatment reaches the canopy without spraying.
What is endotherapy
Treatment delivered inside the tree
Endotherapy places a measured dose into the sapwood through small drilled points around the trunk. The tree's own sap flow carries it to the crown, roots and fruiting zone.
It suits tall palms and trees that are hard to spray, sites close to homes, schools or water, and pests that hide inside the trunk or crown where sprays do not reach. ENDOterapia Vegetal has worked on the technique since 2004, from red palm weevil in palms to fungal disease in avocado, and trains companies and public bodies to use it. In India, ENDOplant is in use with leading oil palm processors.
The method
Four steps at each tree
Drill
Drill small holes around the trunk, roughly every 30–40 cm of circumference.
Place
Insert an ENDOplug in each hole. The catheter lets product in and stops it leaking out.
Secure
Seat the plug with the nylon hammer and positioner so it sits firm and square.
Inject
Pass the needle through the ENDOplug and deliver the set dose with ENDOplant or the manual kit.
